  • 2 large Eggs

  • 1 can Cherry pie filling
For the Glaze
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons Milk adjust as needed

How to Make Christmas Cherry Bars
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 15x10x1-inch jelly roll pan by greasing it.
  2. Cream the softened unsalted butter, sugar, and salt together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the eggs, adding them one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  5. Gradually add the all-purpose flour while mixing to form a soft dough.
  6. Spread about 3 cups of the dough evenly in your prepared pan, holding back some for topping.
  7. Layer the cherry pie filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough on top of the cherry layer.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool the bars completely in the pan before glazing.
  11. Whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla, almond extract, and milk until smooth for the glaze.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars, slice them into squares, and serve.
