Panna Cotta Base
  • 2 cups Eggnog brings the holiday spirit directly to your dessert
  • 1 cup Heavy cream adds a smooth, velvety texture
  • 2 teaspoons Unflavored gelatin helps set the panna cotta
  • ¼ cup Cold water allows the gelatin to bloom
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar sweetens the dessert
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract introduces warmth that complements the eggnog
Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup Whipped cream for a light and airy finish
  • 1 dash Ground nutmeg or cinnamon use for garnish

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Sprinkle gelatin over ¼ cup of cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it swells.
  2. Combine the eggnog and heavy cream in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring gently until warm.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar and the bloomed gelatin into the warm mixture. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Optionally add a splash of alcohol.
  5. Pour the mixture into ramekins or glasses. Cool slightly, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  6. To serve, unmold onto plates or serve in glasses. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon.
