  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract use pure for best results
For Decoration
  • 1 cup sprinkles choose your favorites

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and molasses to the mixture; mix until smooth.
  4. Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Scoop the dough into ¼ cup portions, flatten them slightly, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  8. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for about 20 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. Beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth for the frosting.
  10. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
  11. Pipe or spread the frosting on the cooled cookies.
  12. Top with sprinkles if desired.
