Preparation Steps
  1. Wash the cucumber thoroughly under cold water. Slice it thinly into rounds or strips. Lightly salt the slices and let them rest on a paper towel for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the herbed cream cheese in a bowl. Stir in the fresh dill and lemon zest until evenly combined.
  3. Trim the crusts off the white sandwich bread slices.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the herbed cream cheese on each slice of bread.
  5. Arrange the cucumber slices in a single overlapping layer on half of the bread slices.
  6. Top with the remaining slices of bread and press down gently. Slice the sandwiches diagonally or into fingers.
