  • 1 bag Fritos corn chips the star crunch that holds the dish together
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded for gooey comfort
Optional Garnishes
  • ½ cup Sliced jalapeños for an extra kick
  • ½ cup Sour cream for added creaminess
  • 2 scallions Green onions sliced for a fresh crunch
  • ¼ cup Cilantro fresh leaves for a burst of brightness

Method
 

How to Make Frito Pie
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning, kidney beans, and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer half of the Fritos in the bottom of the greased dish.
  6. Spoon the beef and bean chili mixture evenly over the Fritos.
  7. Sprinkle cheese over the chili. Layer the remaining Fritos on top.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let the pie cool slightly. Add your favorite optional garnishes and serve hot.
