How to Make Frito Pie
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, kidney beans, and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the Fritos in the bottom of the greased dish.
- Spoon the beef and bean chili mixture evenly over the Fritos.
- Sprinkle cheese over the chili. Layer the remaining Fritos on top.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the pie cool slightly. Add your favorite optional garnishes and serve hot.
