How to Make Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the unsalted butter and both sugars in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
- Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and the optional chopped chocolate bar.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie, spacing them 2–3 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Bake the cookies for 9–11 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
- Cut the cookies into heart shapes using a heart-shaped cutter while they are still warm.
- Cool the cookies on the sheet for 5–7 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
