Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. This helps develop gluten, giving the pizza a chewy texture.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
Assemble the Pizza
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
- Using the bell pepper pieces and black olives, create a jack-o'-lantern face on the pizza. Be creative with the eyes, nose, and mouth!
Bake the Pizza
- Carefully transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
