Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 packet instant yeast about 2 ¼ teaspoons
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water about 110°F (43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for dough
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices or any preferred toppings
  • 1 medium bell pepper orange, cut into small pieces for pumpkin face
  • 1 medium black olives sliced for pumpkin face

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. This helps develop gluten, giving the pizza a chewy texture.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Pizza
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter.
  3. Transfer the rolled dough onto a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
Assemble the Pizza
  1. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
  4. Using the bell pepper pieces and black olives, create a jack-o'-lantern face on the pizza. Be creative with the eyes, nose, and mouth!
Bake the Pizza
  1. Carefully transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  3. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
