  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 15-ounce can diced tomatoes include juice
  • 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce or puree
  • cup tomato paste
  • 4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1-2 cups water adjust for consistency
Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • to taste black pepper
Pasta
  • 8 ounces bowtie pasta uncooked
Creamy Finish
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
  • 2 ounces mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese shaved or grated
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, warm olive oil to bring out flavors.
  2. Add ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce to a medium simmer and let bubble.
  5. Add uncooked bowtie pasta and cook for about 10-15 minutes until al dente.
  6. Adjust consistency with water or broth if needed.
  7. Fold in ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese once slightly cooled.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving and enjoy hot.
