How to Make
- Prepare the Ribs: Remove the silver membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Mix the Dry Rub: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Season the Ribs: Generously rub the dry mixture over both sides of the ribs.
- Cut for Fit: Cut the racks into halves or thirds depending on your slow cooker size.
- Arrange in the Slow Cooker: Place the ribs in the slow cooker with the meaty side facing the wall of the insert.
- Add Sauce and Vinegar: Pour barbecue sauce over the ribs, then add apple cider vinegar and liquid smoke.
- Cook to Perfection: Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Optional Broiling: Preheat your oven broiler, transfer the cooked ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet, brush with reserved BBQ sauce, and broil for 4–5 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the ribs hot with extra barbecue sauce and your favorite sides.
