Ingredients

Oats Base
  • 2 cups Rolled oats Use old-fashioned rolled oats for best texture.
  • 2 cups Almond milk Unsweetened almond milk works best.
  • 2 tablespoons Chia seeds These help thicken the mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for better flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
Matcha Layer
  • 2 teaspoons Matcha powder Ceremonial grade matcha is preferred for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Hot water Just below boiling to dissolve matcha.
Toppings
  • 1 cup Fresh berries Strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries work well.
  • 1 banana Sliced For added sweetness and texture.
  • 2 tablespoons Nut butter Almond or peanut butter for a creamy finish.

Method

Prepare the Oats Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and maple syrup. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  2. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes. This allows the chia seeds to absorb some liquid and thicken the oats.
  3. Divide the oat mixture evenly into four mason jars or airtight containers.
Prepare the Matcha Layer
  1. In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with hot water until smooth and fully dissolved. This prevents clumps in your overnight oats.
  2. Layer the matcha mixture on top of the oats in each jar, creating a beautiful green layer.
Refrigerate
  1. Seal the jars with lids and place them in the refrigerator. Allow the oats to soak overnight (or at least 4 hours) for the best texture and flavor.
Serve
  1. In the morning, remove the jars from the refrigerator. Top each serving with fresh berries, banana slices, and a dollop of nut butter.
  2. Enjoy your Vanilla Matcha Overnight Oats cold or at room temperature!
